Randal Dennler is a native of Dayton, Ohio, where he began playing the bassoon at age eleven. He has degrees from the University of Michigan and the University of Cincinnati where his principal teachers were Jeffrey Lyman and William Winstead. Having maintained an active freelance career in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio, he most recently performed with the Illinois Symphony, the Peoria Symphony orchestra, both in Illinois, the Queen City Opera in Cincinnati, OH, and the Grand Rapids Symphony in MI. Randal now calls Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood home. When he is not playing his bassoon, he does wardrobe styling for advertising campaigns thru Ford Artists Chicago and loves road trips with his partner James and dog Coda.
